ProfitBrain ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify app that helps merchants identify profitable upsell opportunities and display product recommendations in their storefront. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you install ProfitBrain, we access and store:

Store information — your Shopify domain, shop name, currency, and plan details.
Product data — product titles, descriptions, prices, weights, tags, product types, and images from your Shopify catalogue.
Order data — order line items used to calculate product co-occurrence and sales trends. We do not store customer names, email addresses, or payment details.
App configuration — your widget settings, discount preferences, and pairing decisions.

2. How We Use Your Data

To generate AI-powered product pairing recommendations.
To estimate product margins and classify profitability.
To render the upsell widget in your storefront.
To produce weekly profit insight reports.
To provide and improve the ProfitBrain service.

We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following sub-processors:

OpenAI — product titles, types, and descriptions are sent to OpenAI's API to generate pairing scores and upsell copy. No customer personal data is sent. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Railway — our hosting and infrastructure provider. See Railway's Privacy Policy.
Shopify — we operate under Shopify's Partner Program and API Terms. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your store's data for as long as ProfitBrain is installed. When you uninstall the app, your shop data is deleted from our systems within 48 hours via the app/uninstalled webhook.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens are encrypted at rest. We limit access to your data to only what is necessary to operate the service.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your store data at any time by contacting us. Uninstalling the app will automatically trigger data deletion.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of ProfitBrain after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
